Reggae & Rock, Jazz, Salsa & Soul in the open air as Jam House musicians take the stage in St Pauls Square on the afternoon of Saturday 26th July.
The line-up for this year’s JQ Festival on the St Pauls Square stage is:
BEEBE QUINTET – Chris “Beebe” Aldridge is one of the UK’s finest saxophonists with a unique playing technique, having performed and recorded with such a range of artistes as Gary Barlow and Jaki Graham, to American jazz icons such as Pee Wee Ellis, and Victor Mendoza. The Beebe Quintet will be performing upbeat classic & original jazz fusion tracks
LOU WARREN BAND – Lou Warren’s magnificent vocals have provided range and power to many well-known UK Soul recordings over the past twenty years. Here she fronts her own band, bringing to life some of her favourite hits from the past two decades and featuring tracks from her recent project.
TOM ATLAS BAND – A British guitarist, singer and songwriter. Well-known in the Blues world, Tom was touring the UK & US with various bands, from an early age. Tom’s new band, in collaboration with players from the Brand New Heavies and the Brothers Groove, continues to tour regularly, electrifying audiences with his unique guitar style, fusing roaring Blues solos over his Funk-laden arrangements.
SIMPLY the BEST of … TINA TURNER – The incredible vocalist, Elle-J Walters & her band celebrates the music of “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Tina Turner with such early hits as “River Deep – Mountain High” and “Nutbush City Limits”, through to the likes of “What’s Love Got to Do with It”’, “Simply The Best”, and beyond!
RED LEMONS – Originally the Red Lemons Electric Blues Band, this band of superbly accomplished and very individual musicians come together to perform a vast range of soul & funk favourites from the likes of Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, and Stevie Wonder to Alicia Keys, Duffy, and Plan B.
REMEMBERING … BOB MARLEY – Bob Marley would have turned 80 this year. In memory of one of the most iconic musicians of all time, the Gabbidon Band will perform a number of Marley’s hits and the fan favourites honourning the songs, the passion, and the enduring legacy of “The King of Reggae”.
LATINMOTION – LatinMotion has been feature of the Jam House regular salsa evenings for the best part of twenty years. Today, they bring their dance workshop display to the stage, playing a mix of salsa, merengue, tango, compas, bossa nova and bachata. This has been a popular festival feature every year!
The SUBTERRANEANS – The ever-popular SUBS will storm the stage this afternoon with a powerful selection of Massive Rock Anthems from the likes of Queen, The Killers, Bryan Adams, Keane, Snow Patrol, Kings of Leon and many, many more!
Live on the Square starts at 12:30pm and the Jam House will be serving cold beverages and street food throughout the afternoon.
