FAQ’s

  • What is the dress code?

    No fancy dress or hen party paraphernalia is permitted. Gentlemen - shirts on the weekend please.

    We would love you to come and celebrate your forthcoming nuptials at The Jam House, but no fancy dress, sashes, tiaras, inflatable appendages or strippers please. They will be taken off you at the door.

  • Tickets

    Ticket prices will be stipulated on the event listings on the What’s On page. If you are dining with us you do not need to purchase separate admission tickets.

    Tickets will give you a queue jump, so please pop to the front door and say your name. You do not need to bring a printed ticket with you. If you are part of large group, you do not need to arrive together, but please let everyone know the booking name and we will tick you off as you come in.

  • Are there any age restrictions?

    The Jam House is an over 21's venue, everyone who comes to the venue must carry a valid form of ID. We only accept passports/national IDs and driving licenses.

  • Accessibility

    We welcome everyone of all abilities to The Jam House and will do our best to accommodate any guest, but please note there may be certain limitations on our accessibility for some.
    If you’re unsure about anything we recommend reaching out to us at birmingham@thejamhouse.com with any queries and so that we can best try to accommodate your needs.
    There is one small step of 1.5 inches to enter the venue from the pavement and our door team will be happy to assist anyone who requires help to enter.
    We have an access area for those with disabilities or who are less able to stand to the right hand side of the front bar area which gives a side on view of the stage (please note, your view of the stage may be restricted depending on how the band are set up.)
    There is also an accessible toilet located on this floor as well as in our restaurant, but unfortunately not on our dancefloor.
    We have a Stannah stairlift that moves between the ground floor, dancefloor & restaurant and our staff will be happy to assist you to operate it. Foldable wheelchairs can be moved up onto these floors, but unfortunately it is not possible to move electric wheelchairs up onto our dancefloor or restaurant.

  • Companion/Personal Assistant Tickets

    If you would like a carer or PA to accompany you for the night, please purchase a standing ticket for yourself and email your companion’s name and a photo of your Carer’s Card to birmingham@thejamhouse.com – they’ll then receive a complimentary standing ticket.
    For those who also require seating, please specify this in your request for a companion ticket. Due to limited spacing, we cannot guarantee everyone a seat in our access area.
    As a small music venue in an old building there are challenges in making our venue accessible to all. As we continue to try and improve on how we assist our guests, we greatly appreciate any feedback on our access provisions via birmingham@thejamhouse.com.

  • Balcony seats & supplements

    Balcony tables are those tables situated right along the edge of the balcony overlooking the stage and front bar which offer you an unobstructed view of the stage.

    On Saturday nights these tables do incur a £5 per head supplement. On ticketed events and NYE these tables are priced at a premium.

  • Set times

    Set times are always subject to change for one reason or another, right up until the day of the event, but live music usually starts approx. at 8.30pm on Wednesday, 9pm on Thursday.

  • Do you have a cloakroom?

    Yes, we have one and it is £2 per item. If you lose your ticket you may well have to wait until the end of the night, so please don’t moan.

    Forgotten coats are stored for 3 months then given away to the coatless.

  • Do I need to pre-order?

    Parties of 12 or more are required to pre-order from the menu please.

  • Do you have a lost property office?

    Yes, we have a lost property office with anything from a coat, brolly, make-up bag, single shoe or even a toupee – we’ve seen it all.

    So, don’t be shy- please call the office and we can check if we have your item.

  • Can you make celebration cakes?

    Yes, we make cakes and they’re great! £8 per head for minimum of 2 people.

    Carrot cake, chocolate or strawberries and cream. We do ask for full payment and 10 days’ notice.

  • Do you offer gift vouchers?

    Stuck for a gift idea or looking for something different?

    You can buy vouchers for use towards admission, dining or drinks to be exchanged at The Jam house on a date of your choice.

  • What are your opening times?

    Wednesday: 6pm-midnight
    Thursday: 6pm - 1am
    Friday: 6pm - 2am
    Saturday: 6pm - 2am

    The office is manned by smiley lovely people, even when the venue is closed.

  • Do you take card payments?

    Yes, we take card payments at the bar and on the front door.

    We have a cash point but it charges – nearest free cash point is at the Co-Op.

  • How do I get to The Jam House?

    Postcode B3 1QU. We are right opposite St Pauls Church.

  • Venue capacity

    We can hold 605 standing, cater for up to 350 buffet, 160 for sit down meal. Restaurant or entrance bookings for one or more are most welcome

  • Do you have any job vacancies?

    We welcome speculative applications for vacancies that make become available within our wonderful Bars, Glass Collection or Restaurant teams.
    Full training on the job will be given so no experience is necessary but is preferred. Saturdays are a must as is a winning smile! Applicants should be flexible for other days and events.

  • Taxis & parking

    Black cabs do rank outside on busy nights, if not we recommend St Pauls Cars.

    We do not have a car park but there is on street parking around the square which is free after 6pm. There is an NCP just opposite us on the square.
